Andrea Kader was born in San Jose, Costa Rica on April 9th, 1996, where she spent her formative years until graduating from high school in 2013. She pursued her college career at Parsons The New School and graduated with a degree in fashion design in 2018. During her years in New York, she worked with fashion stylists and brands such as Jonathan Simkhai, Yigal Azrouel, Solid & Striped, and Anne Fontaine. In 2019, the designer returned to Costa Rica to continue her explorations in upcycling and start her own company. In October 2019, the Andrea Kader brand officially launched its first collection: "Ready to Work," which was presented in San Jose, Costa Rica. The second collection of the brand, "AbFormal," was launched in September 2020 at NYFW for the "The Ones to Watch" show organized by Flying Solo and in October of the same year at the first digital runway of CRFW. 2021 was a year of expansion for the brand; it opened its first studio/showroom in San Jose, participated in pop-ups in Boston and New York, and made its first large-scale order in Miami. With the hope of continuing to grow in the international market in 2022, the brand participated in pop-ups in Los Angeles, New York, Madrid, Boston, and San Jose. It also continued working with regional and continental stores with points of sale in Guatemala and Costa Rica. Regarding her designs, she continues to push the limits with unconventional material combinations and contributes to the environment with sustainable practices in production and manufacturing.
