Andrea Kader was born in San Jose, Costa Rica on April 9th, 1996, and spent her formative years there until graduating from high school in 2013. She embarked on her college journey at Parsons The New School, earning a degree in fashion design in 2018. During her time in New York, Andrea collaborated with notable fashion stylists and brands, including Jonathan Simkhai, Yigal Azrouel, Solid & Striped, and Anne Fontaine.
Driven by a passion for upcycling, Andrea returned to Costa Rica in 2019 to embark on a new chapter in her career, founding her own company. The Andrea Kader brand officially debuted in October 2019 with the launch of its inaugural collection, "Ready to Work," presented in San Jose, Costa Rica. The brand's second collection, "AbFormal," made waves in September 2020 at NYFW during the "The Ones to Watch" show organized by Flying Solo, followed by an October showcase on the first digital runway of CRFW.
The transformative year of 2021 saw the brand expand its horizons, opening its first studio/showroom in San Jose, participating in pop-ups across Boston and New York, and securing its first substantial order in Miami. With an eye towards continued global growth in 2022, Andrea Kader participated in pop-ups in Los Angeles, New York, Madrid, Boston, and San Jose.
In 2023, Andrea Kader received an invitation to showcase her collection at SDM Guatemala, gaining significant recognition with features in Vogue and Glamour magazine. This acclaim solidified the brand's international standing. In June of the same year, the brand moved to an expanded studio/showroom space in San José, facilitating team growth and improved production.
September 2023 marked the launch of the brand's latest collection, "Green Forest," unveiled at the showroom inauguration and available for purchase both in-store and online. Andrea Kader demonstrated her commitment to innovation by collaborating with the Omoda brand for a capsule collection during their Costa Rican launch. The brand also crafted bespoke pieces for the prestigious V Spa hotel. Maintaining a robust regional and continental presence, Andrea Kader continued to thrive with points of sale in Guatemala and Costa Rica.
In terms of design philosophy, Andrea Kader continually pushes boundaries with unconventional material combinations, contributing to environmental sustainability through conscientious practices in production and manufacturing.
